Kinshicho <Shiroka Kuroka>. An upscale bakery where reservations are standard. I could not buy the shokupan without one, but did get a sugar-crystal doughnut and cinnamon apple pie. Setting aside whether it is good or bad, some Japanese bakeries sharpen their flavors to such an intensely refined point that you wonder whether bread needs to go this far. This was one of them.
