Shinjuku <Shokudo Naganoya>. A diner directly in front of Shinjuku Station's southeast exit, now in its astonishing 111th year. Prices are low, around the lower ¥1,000s, and the composition and portions modest, but the food is excellent. I ordered the *sabani* set. Mackerel simmered in soy sauce and miso was tender and delicious. It felt like home cooking for the first time in a while.
